Departement-S was founded in 1998 by Jan Stens and Marc Rosemblum after their experience during the 1998 world cup of soccer in France, where multi-skilled professionals from all over the world had to collaborate together on a large-scale international event.

Their conviction was conceived that  a “human-scaled“ agency, independant from major groups, which could offer a multicultural expertise for event organization would bring a great added value.
