Corporate event production in Italy – with a partner embedded in the culture.

Italy is part of our European reach, supported by a network of trusted local partners across Rome, Milan, Florence and Turin. International agencies have long asked us to scope Italian destinations, and we have the partner relationships in place to mobilise a full local production team at short notice. The model is the same one that works for our clients across the continent: one cross-border point of contact, in-country expertise on the ground.

More than an Italian DMC. We bring structure to Italian flexibility.

Italy is one of the most operationally nuanced markets in Europe. Regional differences are sharp, supplier relationships often matter more than contracts, and the famous Italian flexibility can work for or against a project depending on who is managing the timeline.

Italy can also read as a more relaxed market than Germany on the surface – the trap is assuming relaxed means simpler. The gap between insider and outsider terms – on pricing, lead times and what’s included versus itemised – is often wider here than in markets that look stricter on paper.

Our role is to close the gap between an international agency’s expectations and how Italian production actually runs. We bring the cross-border project management, contractual structure and reporting discipline international clients expect. Our local partners bring the supplier relationships, regional fluency and creative instinct that no out-of-market team can replicate.

Where we operate

Italy offers four distinct event geographies, each with its own character and industry profile.

Rome

Rome carries a sense of history few destinations can match. Palazzi, basilicas, archaeological sites, private villas and historic gardens bring real weight to programmes where heritage, symbolism and cultural depth matter.

The city is made for institutional gatherings, formal dinners, high-level hospitality and productions where protocol, discretion and precision are essential.
Our role is to navigate the access, timing, permits and trusted local relationships that make Rome work.

Milan

Milan is Italy’s commercial, creative and design capital – a city where business, fashion, architecture and innovation move with a distinct sense of style. From Fashion Week and Design Week to financial conferences, product launches and brand moments, Milan is built for projects where image, precision and positioning matter.

Converted industrial spaces in Tortona, contemporary galleries, private palazzi, design showrooms, rooftop terraces and elegant hotels in the historic centre let brands create events that feel polished, directional and unmistakably Italian.

Our strength in Milan lies in translating that sophistication into flawless execution. We understand the pace, expectations and production standards of a city where details are never secondary, making Milan a powerful destination for brand experiences, corporate events and launches that need to feel sharp, elegant and unmistakably Italian.

Florence

Florence is the destination for intimate, high-prestige programmes where beauty, heritage and discretion define the experience. Smaller in scale but exceptional in cultural depth, it is ideal for executive retreats, small-group incentives, milestone celebrations and private hospitality.

Renaissance palazzi, private galleries, hidden courtyards, rooftop terraces and noble residences – extended into the Tuscan countryside through private villas, vineyards and estates – give programmes a setting that’s visually impossible to replicate.

Turin

Turin is one of Italy’s most distinctive event destinations – shaped by industrial heritage, automotive culture and a strong design identity. More understated than Milan and more technical in spirit, the city is precise, intelligent and deeply connected to innovation and engineering.

Former Fiat sites, contemporary industrial spaces, royal residences, historic palazzi and design-led museums make Turin particularly well suited to car launches, product presentations, technical conferences and corporate programmes with an industrial narrative.
Our strength in Turin lies in understanding how to use the city’s character without making it feel purely functional. With the right venues, suppliers and production planning, Turin becomes a powerful stage for brands that want substance, elegance and a strong connection to Italy’s industrial excellence.

FAQs

Departement S leads the project, and an Italian production team we’ve worked with repeatedly handles execution on the ground. Your contract is with us, and so is the responsibility.

A separate fee. We charge for our time and our team’s work, agreed upfront, while supplier costs pass through transparently with no inflated invoices or hidden margins. If a handling fee applies on something specific, it shows on the invoice in plain sight.

We invoice from our German entity under the EU B2B reverse-charge mechanism, which is standard, compliant, and the same setup most agency finance teams handle every quarter. Where Italian VAT applies directly, such as some venue contracts or local services, we structure it in advance with your finance team so nothing surprises accounting mid-project.

Yes. Venue options, supplier shortlists and indicative budgets are included as standard, on the understanding that we’re the team you bring in when the project converts. For deeper feasibility work, such as site visits or detailed technical scoping, we agree a scoped fee upfront that’s creditable against the production fee if the project goes ahead.
